# How to resend credentials to a family member

If you need to resend the credentials to a family member, you must **create new ones**, as the passwords in the database are encrypted and it is impossible to know them even for the programmers.

**Procedure to send a new password**

• Go to the student profile associated with the family member.

• Go to the **Family Members** section of the student profile.

• Click on **Edit** in the top right corner.

• Click on the blue **Change password** button.

• Generate a new random password by clicking on the magic wand icon.

• Activate the toggle under the **Send password** label by setting it to **Yes**.

• Click on **Save** to confirm.

At this point, the family member will receive an **email with the newly generated password**.

**Recommendations**

• **Do not reuse the same password for multiple users**: it is always better to generate a unique password for each family member.

• **Facilitate password change**: the family member will be able to change it themselves from their profile after logging in.
